Close to Retirement But Can't Afford to Retire? Here is a Solution.

I feel that there are many good, hard working, family people out there who desperately want to retire from their corporate jobs but can’t afford to. The declining economy and the uncertain nature of Corporate America have made this situation even worse.

I don’t know what your situation is. I can only tell you my story - the problems I had a few years ago and how I solved those problems.

I Wanted To Retire but Couldn’t Afford to

I had a successful corporate career. I had been a Chief Financial Officer for over 20 years. But I was tired of the stress in my job. I was tired of working for someone else. I was tired of working 50-80 hours a week. I was tired of the long commute. I wanted out of Corporate America!

To make matters worse, I was approaching my retirement age. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough money to retire.

It was a scary situation for me. Thinking I would have to work in a job for the rest of my life made me sick just to think about it.

I looked at the alternatives I faced:

1. I could continue to work in my present job. I think this is the route most people take. Those people may not be willing to take the risk of doing something different. They may not be willing to put in the effort to learn something new. I think many times, people select this alternative and are miserable for all the years that follow. For me, this was not an alternative.

2. I could have found another job. Depending on your age, this could be a great solution to your problem. But it was not for me! For one thing, at my age, it would be difficult to replace my salary. And just the thought of staying in Corporate America, even though it was another job, just didn’t excite me.

3. I could buy a franchise. But that would be very expensive. Besides, I think that buying a franchise was almost like buying a job. No, that was not for me.

4. I could start a brick and mortar business. I could buy a book store or a retail shop. But I think that buying a business like that is almost the same, if not worst, than buying a franchise.

5. I could get into a home based business – an internet network marketing opportunity. After all, the initial investment of doing this would be far less than buying a franchise or a brick and mortar business.

 

 

I Decided to Join an Internet Network Marketing Business

There was no doubt. I was an entrepreneur at heart. I was a self-starter; I was willing to do what it took to be successful.

So guess what? I decided to get into a home business. Oh, I continued to work in my regular job. But I thought that in a couple of years, I would be making so much money, I would easily be able to retire. But unfortunately, my timetable was a little off the mark.

Going into network marketing was the route I took. It may not be the route you should take. That’s certainly ok.

The Internet Network Marketing Enterprise Is an Excellent Business Model

Since you have read this far, chances are you have a corporate job and you want out. You possibly have a very high level executive position. You may be in a situation similar to the one I was in and need to supplement your retirement income.

You may have operated your own business before. If you have been in your own network marketing enterprise, you know that it provides an excellent business model to market products and services through independent associates.

It can provide an excellent opportunity for a person to get out of a situation that may not be working for them and move them into a situation that does.

When I joined the network marketing industry, I loved the company I was in. It had some great products. I still use some of those products today.

I Struggled Using the Old, Traditional MLM Marketing Methods

But I struggled big time for more than a couple of years in my business. Three weeks after my sponsors told me that this was the greatest company ever, they quit. I never talked with them again. Hopefully, I wasn’t the one responsible for their leaving.

I was desperately looking for success. But I didn’t know how to market my business. So I found someone in my upline who was very successful in the company and I tried to do everything he did.

So that’s what I did. I did everything he told me to do. I told all my friends and family members about my business. I made a list of 200 acquaintances and contacted them. I had an excellent elevator speech and gave it to everyone who came close to me. I invited people to hotel meetings. I hosted home business presentations. I called lists of leads for hours and hours every week.

Although I started having some success, I always struggled.

When I Look Back On Those Days, It’s Not Surprising That It Was a Struggle

One saying that has always stuck with me says that, “people love to buy, but they hate to be sold.” In those early days, I was trying to get people to buy something I thought they should buy, but most of them had little or no interest in what I was offering. I was chasing after people.

I don’t blame anyone but myself for this failure. I just didn’t know any better. The marketing methods I was using just didn’t fit my personality.

Unless that type of marketing really resonates with you, I recommend that you look at other methods. If I received that advice when I started, I could have reduced my learning curve by several years and saved a ton of money.

But My Sad Story Gets Better

This is a pretty demoralizing story to this point. Two years after I had started my business, I had spent more than I had earned. I was actually further away from retiring than when I started.

As I said before, the point of my relating this story to you is so you don’t make the same mistakes I did.

But things did get better!

If you have been in network marketing before, you may have had success using these old MLM marketing methods. But most people have not.

For those people, I have good news for you. You don’t have to market that way anymore.

Internet Attraction Marketing Transformed My Business to Profitability and Fun

There is a marketing approach that people are starting to use which is far different from what has been used in the past. This approach has transformed my business into one that is profitable and fun.

The new approach is called attraction marketing or internet attraction marketing.

You have possibly heard of it or are using it in your business.

These new marketing methods have provided me a way to retire from Corporate America. Marketing my business is now something I really enjoy. These new methods can generate many qualified prospects for your business at a very low cost. Your business can be very profitable and also be loads of fun.

You may be looking for an alternative source of income to at least supplement your retirement income. You may want, in some cases, to replace your current income or most likely far exceed your current job income. With hyper-inflation on the horizon, I feel that is a good approach.

All the information on this blog, plus any other information I send you, directs you toward starting your own internet marketing business.

I do this because that is the path I took. I will not try to convince you to go that route. You may decide to go in a completely different direction. That’s perfectly OK. But this website will not be for you.

How to Make Money in Internet Marketing

To create your successful online income-creating business, you are going to set up a system that is geared towards creating and selling your own products in the long run. In the short run, as you are building your business, you are going to locate reputable affiliate products to plug into your advertising and distribution system while you are building your online products to sell. As you create your own products, you will slowly replace the affiliate items with your own.

Here are the steps:

1) Evaluate yourself. What do you really want out of life? How will your internet business fit into that?

2) Decide you are going to succeed, no matter what. There is no sense in getting started, in spending the first penny or moment of time if you are going to quit when things get rough--they will, so you might as well not get started.

3) Decide what you enjoy and would like to market and provide, that also has a reasonable market. If you like painting, see if there are enough painters online to meet some needs in that niche. Perhaps you are a dog lover--are there enough dog lovers online to meet some of their needs and make a profit at the same time?

4) Learn where you niche market congregates. How do they use the internet? How do they relate to others online?

5) Find out the needs of your chosen niche market. What do they need? What kind of questions do they ask that you might be able to answer?

6) Begin to communicate with your niche market. Discover their needs. Learn how to meet those needs. Learn what you need to know to become an expert in your chosen niche.

7) Learn what other products or services on the web already meet some of their needs. What are some products your niche market is asking about that are not available yet? Those items might be good items for you to begin to think about creating.

8) Make a list of which products are already available and which you might produce. See if the ones that are already available have an affiliate program associated with them, so you can earn some income while you are developing your product.

9) Build a web site. You cannot run a serious online long term business on someone else’s web site--because it is really their business, they are just paying you to promote it. Create a squeeze page on your web site so you can begin to enroll visitors to your web site in an email campaign. It is important to use email to keep in touch with the people you meet online, who might have an interest in either your new product or one of the affiliate products. Create a recommendations page which will have links to your affiliate products.

10) Get an auto responder. Write a series of articles geared towards your niche market. At the end of each email article, place a link back to the recommendations page of your web site.

11) Begin to spend more time online with your niche market. Find every forum you can where people in your niche market congregate. Find out what they are looking for, what questions they have.

12) Learn the answers to the questions people have in the forums. Give them your answers. After awhile you will begin to look like an expert to them (and you should be becoming one by now, anyway!).

13) Create an information product geared towards answering all the questions folks in the forums have been asking.

14) Create a sales page that specifically markets your new product.

15) Create a series of emails that will introduce people to your new product.

16) Find joint venture partners that will help you distribute your new product.

17) Advertise in ezines, safe lists (just be careful here), and on other marketers’ email lists.

18) Sit back and collect the profits.

19) Start over on step 1) and create another product. In the meantime, continue to promote your product, as well as some related affiliate products, to your mailing list. Continue to build your relationship with those on your mailing list. Treat them as people, not as an email number.

How a Good Internet Marketing Training Source Saves You Time and Money

Finding the Best Internet Network Marketing Training Source is Critical to the Success of Your Business

In the past 5 months, the online training I use has taken me from being a complete novice in web 2.0 social marketing to being very knowledgeable on the subject. I am now generating many leads using these marketing methods.

The purpose of this brief article is to point out how valuable this training source, Renegade Professional, is to me.

I think you will agree that marketing is the life blood of our internet network marketing business. For the past week, I have been trying to set up what I call a Squidoo master lens. I'm trying to set up a series of four related articles on one Squidoo lens.

I have spent many hours looking through the instructions on Squidoo but just can't figure out how to do it. Don't laugh. It may be easy, but I just don't get it.

I think that this series of articles can be valuable to certain group of people that read it.
I am not a complete computer novice. In the last five months, Renegade Professional training has provided me with the information I needed to make amazing improvement in my marketing results.

This training is based on Ann Sieg's book, The Renegade Network Marketer. This book is revolutionizing the way top networkers are marketing their businesses.

Renegade has taught me how to set up my marketing using a blog, Squidoo, HubPages, Ezine Articles, MySpace, FaceBook, and You Tube. It has taught me how to use bookmarking to improve my traffic.
It has taught me how to write articles in a very efficient manner and in a way that provides value to my target market.

It has taught me how to maximize my marketing results by tying all these components together.
The training is detailed and step by step from beginning to end. As a result, I have had absolutely no problems in setting up these marketing methods and generating free leads.

A Squidoo master lens is somewhat advanced concept, and the Renegade advanced training has not yet gone into an explanation on how to set it up.
So I am completely bogged down on this. I probably won't figure it out until Renegade Professional puts out a tutorial explaining how to do it. That's how dependent I am on this training.

Many Marketing Training Courses Don't Give You Enough Information to Even Set up the Basics

I have taken marketing training courses before. After taking some of those, I have many times gotten completely bogged down on just setting up the basics of their marketing concept. They didn't provide step by step training. I ended up spending several days just trying to set up the basics of the marketing method. Not only did this waste my time. I also lost money by not being able to set up the marketing method.

The Step by Step Training of the Renegade System Allows you to Sail Through Their Training

This never happens with the Renegade system. The only reason I am stuck on this master lens is that it is somewhat more advanced and Renegade has not yet covered it.

To me, this points out the tremendous value of the Renegade Professional training. It provides the training a beginner needs to get started and begin producing great results in their business. It also helps someone like me, a person who is an intermediate marketer at the very least, generate a massive number of leads.

The Renegade training system has saved me time and money. I have sailed through their basic and advanced tutorials. I am very grateful for this training and my businesses are much more profitable as a result of it.

7 Additional Qualities Critical to Your Internet Marketing Success

Not all people are cut out to be a successful internet network marketer. I don’t mean to be criticizing anyone here. I feel that each of us has our own God given talents and abilities. Many people are best suited to be an employee. There is certainly nothing wrong with that.

Others have entrepreneurial qualities. They may or may not have a desire to strike off into their own business.

But I do feel that it is extremely important to examine very closely the qualities and abilities you have before you start a business. Do you have what it takes to be a successful internet network marketer?

There are many advantages to being an entrepreneur and operating an internet network marketing business. But if you do not have the necessary qualities, you are probably just kidding yourself that you can be successful in this type of business.

In my last article, I pointed out “2 Qualities You Must Have to Become a Successful Internet Network Marketer.” I strongly recommend that you review that article in conjunction with what you are reading here. Listed below are 7 remaining questions you need to ask yourself before making a decision to get into network marketing.

1. Can You Stand up to Criticism?

Some of your sharpest criticism will come from family and friends. If you are a “wimp” and can’t be strong in the face of criticism, you will fail.

2. Are you able to take rejection?

The internet attraction marketing methods I use significantly reduce sales rejection in my business. But I don’t care what kind of marketing method you use, you must sometimes face rejection. If you take the rejection personally and linger on the negative, you will have a difficult time succeeding.

3. Are You Willing to Sacrifice Some of the Things You Really Enjoy?

Are you willing to give up watching your favorite television show or your favorite sports team in order to work on your business? Are you willing to give up a night out with your friends so you can complete a marketing piece you are working on for your business?

Please don’t get me wrong. You should not live a completely unbalanced life and work all the time on your business. But if you truly want to succeed, you must be willing to make sacrifices.

4. Are You a Decision Maker?

You must be if you want to be a successful internet marketer. In a job, most decisions are made by a supervisor or someone above that person. If you do make decisions, most of them are probably not made completely on your own. As a result, you are not totally responsible for the cost of making that bad decision.

That is not the case if you want to be a successful internet network marketer. If you own your own business, you have nobody else to blame but yourself for poor decisions. Any monetary losses resulting from your bad decisions must be absorbed by you.

5. Are You Willing to Study and Learn?

One of the biggest reasons for failure in a home based business is that the network marketer does not master the proper marketing methods. A successful internet network marketer must be willing to invest money and a significant amount of time learning how to best market his business.

6. Are You Comfortable Talking with People in Person and on the Phone?

Don’t believe all the MLM advertising propaganda that promises that you don’t need to talk with prospects. Just relying on a system to communicate with your prospect will end in the failure of your business in the long run.

7. Are You a Problem Solver?

That is your job as a successful internet network marketer. You must be willing and able to solve your prospect’s problems.

I’m not talking about solving the problems you think your prospect has. You must get out of your comfort zone, identify the specific problems of your target market by talking with your prospects, and then come up with solutions to address those problems.

There you have it. I have listed 9 extremely important qualities you must have to become a successful internet network marketer. There are 7 in this article and 2 in a previous article. I suggest that you study both lists carefully before making a decision.
